Two people, a driver and a passenger, were seriously injured in an Alachua County crash. The accident happened this morning.
At the time of the accident, 34-year-old Dustin Emery Barnes was driving his Yaris when he was involved in an accident. He had one passenger in the accident, identified as 77-year-old Rachel Hunter Barnes. Barnes’ vehicle traveled into the southbound lane of travel and swerved onto a grass shoulder. As a result, it ran into a culvert.
The vehicle went airborne and it came to a rest 80 feet away from the accident. Both occupants inside the vehicle were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
Dustin Barnes received citations.
