Last night, a man was struck and gravely injured in an accident that took place in Jacksonville.
The Duclay Forest pedestrian accident occurred after the man was riding on his ATV. He was riding the 4-wheeler alongside a dark roadway in the forest area last night when he suddenly dismounted it so that he could walk into the roadway for unknown reasons. This occurred close to the intersection of Morse Avenue and Seaboard Avenue.
Suddenly, a vehicle driving northbound came upon the intersection and struck the man. The driver said that they were unable to stop the vehicle by the time that they noticed him walking into the intersection. The man was quickly taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
