Fort Lauderdale, FL (April 10, 2020) - A deadly crash took place in Fort Lauderdale on Friday when a car collided with an Amtrak train. The incident happened on Cypress Creek near Interstate 95 just after 9:00 a.m.
The Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue along with police officers responded to the crash scene. There is no word on the events leading up to the crash. The driver of the car has not been identified at this time. The Amtrak train was occupied when the crash took place but no one on board was hurt.
An investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
Deadly crashes take place in Floriday every day. While fatal accidents involving vehicles are more common, crashes involving trains also do occur and are particularly catastrophic when they do happen.
