Fort Lauderdale, FL - Two Hurt, Including Sheriff’s Deputy, in Crash on W. Commercial Boulevard

Fort Lauderdale, FL (September 12, 2020) - A deputy with the Broward County Sheriff's Office was hurt in a three-car crash in Fort Lauderdale on Friday. The accident took place in the 1000 block of W. Commercial Boulevard near Powerline Road.
According to a report from the scene, the crash happened around 9:00 a.m. There is no information on what led up to the accident at this time. The deputy and a female passenger in one of the other vehicles were both taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Both are expected to make a full recovery. No other injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
An investigation is ongoing at this time. There is no additional information available.

Polk County, FL - 2 Killed, Including 9-Year-Old Child, in Crash on US 17/92
Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash that took place in Haines City on Saturday, March 7th. The crash happened on US 17/92 near Bates Road.
According to reports, 59-year-old Keith Mitchell and 9-year-old Yaliz Morales died in the collision. Yaliz Morales was a passenger in a black Toyota 4Runner driven by 34-year-old Alexayra Morales. Mitchell was the driver of a second vehicle involving in the crash. Alexayra Morales suffered life-threatening injuries while several others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. There is no information on the cause of the crash. Authorities report that no criminal charges are expected at this time.
Alachua County, FL - Seven People Hospitalized Following Rollover Crash on I-75
Alachua County Fire Rescue responded to a rollover crash on I-75 on Saturday, June 8th. The incident occurred at mile marker 394.
When crews arrived, they found an SUV overturned in a ditch off the roadway. The SUV had a total of nine occupants at the time of the crash. Seven of the nine occupants were taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word on the exact nature of the injuries or what caused the accident to occur. Police are still investigating.
