Fort Lauderdale, FL (September 3, 2019) - Two men died in a crash on I-95 in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, September 2nd. The incident took place when their car fell from an overpass just before 8:30 p.m.
According to Lt. Alvaro Feola of the Florida Highway Patrol, the car was traveling on the overpass when it fell and overturned, landing on its roof in a grassy area. Two occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead. They have been identified as 23-year-old Jacob Horst of Plantation, FL and 23-year-old Joey Orologio of Fort Lauderdale. There is no word on what caused the incident to occur, although police are looking into the possibility that it was weather-related due to wind from Hurricane Dorian.
No further details have been released at this time.
