Fort Myers, FL (June 24, 2018) – One person was confirmed dead at the scene of a fatal crash. The Florida Highway Patrol and Lee County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene of the fatal crash. Investigators said that it happened on Gateway Boulevard and Commerce Lakes Drive in Fort Myers last evening.
One person was confirmed dead at the scene. Investigators worked to identify the woman who lost her life at the scene.
Within a few hours, the woman was identified as 44-year-old Angela Vetter. The Florida Highway Patrol said that Vetter was driving south on Gateway Boulevard towards Commerce Lakes Drive when she suddenly drove over a median and onto the northbound lanes of Gateway Boulevard.
Vetter then collided with a tree. She was transported to the Gulf Coast Hospital but died due to her severe injuries.
