Fort Myers, FL (May 21, 2021) - A woman was killed and another person was hurt following a multi-car accident in Fort Myers. The incident happened on Thursday, May 20th on Cypress Lake Drive near Overlook Drive.
According to a report from authorities, a 65-year-old woman from Hampshire, IL was driving an SUV eastbound in the left turn lane of Cypress Lake. At the same time, a 74-year-old woman from Fort Myers and a 39-year-old man from Fort Myers were both traveling westbound on Cypress Lake. The SUV then turned left in front of the other two vehicles. The three cars collided, causing the first vehicle to spin off the roadway and strike a utility pole before coming to rest. An 83-year-old passenger in the vehicle died at the crash scene while the 65-year-old driver sustained serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported and the victims were not immediately identified.
