Fort Myers, FL (November 2, 2019) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol were on the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Fort Myers on Thursday, October 31st. The crash took place around 10:00 p.m. on Buckingham Road.
According to reports, 50-year-old Shannon Flanagan of Fort Myers was walking across the road when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling southbound on Buckingham. The crash sent Flanagan airborne and he landed on the shoulder of the roadway. Rescue workers pronounced him dead at the scene. There is no word on whether the driver of the truck remained at the crash scene.
Troopers are still investigating. There is no word yet on whether any charges are expected.
