Gibsonton, FL (September 18, 2019) - A 35-year-old man from Tampa was charged with DUI manslaughter after a crash on I-75 near Gibsonton Road on Monday, September 16th. The crash took place around 1:00 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Frank Joseph Fisher was traveling southbound on I-75 in a Ford F250 when he rear-ended a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Chad Taylor Cagley, was thrown from the bike before it burst into flames. Cagley died at the scene of the crash. Fisher fled the accident but was later located by deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Following an investigation, it was determined that Fisher was impaired and he was charged with DUI manslaughter.
