Gibsonton, FL (July 31, 2019) - A pedestrian sustained serious injuries following a collision on US-41 on Tuesday, July 30th. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 7:00 a.m.
Reports indicate that the pedestrian was crossing Highway 41 near Big Bend Road when he was struck by a vehicle. Following the crash, the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital by helicopter, where he was listed in serious condition. He has not been identified at this time, nor have police identified the driver of the car. The crash caused all lanes of US-41 to be shut down while officers remained on the scene. Drivers were asked to find alternate routes of travel.
No further details have been released at this time.
