Haines City, FL (October 4, 2018) - A man is dead and another in critical condition following a crash in Haines City on Monday, October 1st. The crash happened on Johnson Avenue, near Lake Marion Creek.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Frank Gonzalez was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry on Johnson Avenue. At the same time, 61-year-old John Hancock was driving a 1985 Ford truck. Hancock's truck crossed over the center line and struck Gonzalez's Camry head-on.
Hancock was thrown from the truck and Gonzalez was trapped inside his vehicle following the crash. Gonzalez died from his injuries around 1:00 pm Tuesday at Osceola Regional Medical Center. Hancock is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate and charges are pending at this time.
