Hernando County, FL (May 26, 2020) - A 51-year-old man from Bradenton died and two others were hurt in a head-on collision that took place on Saturday, May 23rd. The crash was reported just after 6:00 p.m. on Cortez Boulevard near Westlake Boulevard.
Police say that the 51-year-old man was driving westbound on Cortez when he traveled into the eastbound lane to pass slower traffic. As he was in the eastbound lane, he collided head-on with a pickup truck. The man, who has not been identified, died at the crash scene. A 22-year-old driver in the pickup truck and a 20-year-old passenger both suffered injuries. The driver was seriously hurt while the passenger sustained minor injuries.
