Hernando County, FL (September 22, 2020) - A man was killed and another was seriously hurt after a three-vehicle accident in Hernando County. The crash took place around 4:15 p.m. along U.S. 19 near Pepper Street.
Police responded to the crash scene shortly after the accident occurred. According to a report, a 45-year-old man from Port Richey was driving southbound in a pickup truck on U.S. 19 when he failed to slow for traffic in front of him. The man's truck hit a second pickup truck driven by a 76-year-old Holiday man. The second truck then collided with a car driven by an 81-year-old man from Homosassa. The New Port Richey man's truck rolled over and came to rest in the intersection.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene and pronounced the New Port Richey man deceased as a result of his injuries. The man from Holiday sustained serious injuries while the Homosassa man suffered minor injuries. No one involved in the accident has been identified.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.

When a crash happens, the police must conduct a careful investigation of the scene in order to determine which driver was responsible for causing the accident and who should be held at fault.
