Hillsborough County, FL (February 6, 2021) - An 18-year-old passenger was killed in a crash that took place on State Road 574 in Hillsborough County on Friday. The crash took place at the intersection with Williams Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 23-year-old was traveling eastbound on S.R. 574 when they arrived at a red light. The driver failed to slow down and swerved to avoid three cars stopped at the red light. As the driver swerved, his vehicle struck another vehicle and collided with the rear-end of a third car. The car then crashed into a median before coming to rest on the shoulder. A passenger in the vehicle was killed in the crash. The passenger's identity has not been released at this time. There were no reports of other injuries as a result of the accident.
Troopers are still investigating the accident at this time. There is no further information available.
Fatal car accidents in Florida take place about eight times each day. Many of these accidents will involve the loss of life for innocent victims.
