Hillsborough County, FL (December 15, 2020) - Police and rescue workers responded to the scene of a fatal car accident in Hillsborough Couty on Tuesday, December 15th. The crash was reported around 4:30 p.m. on the Dale Mabry Highway near Busch Boulevard.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, at least one person was killed in the accident. At this time, there are few details available surrounding the cause of the accident or the number of vehicles involved. Officers have not publicly identified the deceased victim. Motorists in the area were advised to find alternate routes of travel.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time. There is no additional information available.
According to statistics, there were approximately 3,000 fatal traffic accidents in Florida in 2019. While this number remained relatively unchanged from the year before, it did go up slightly as Florida's roadways became more dangerous.
