Hillsborough County, FL (June 9, 2021) - A 46-year-old man from Zephyrhills was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash on Wednesday near Thonotosassa. The crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 4 around 6:40 a.m.
According to police, a white SUV or pickup truck sideswiped a blue 2003 Infiniti causing the Infiniti to flip over. The vehicle then fled the scene. Rescue crews arrived and treated the Infiniti driver. The driver was later taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Authorities are searching for the driver of the first vehicle. The vehicle is expected to have left side damage and blue transfer paint.
Anyone with information should contact the Florida Highway Patrol. There is no further information available.
