Hillsborough County, FL (December 30, 2018) - A 73-year-old Tampa resident was killed in a crash along State Road 574 on Friday, December 28th. He was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The other driver, 25-year-old Daniel Olufemi Abrahams, sustained minor injuries in the crash but was not taken to the hospital.
There is no word at this time on whether any charges will be issued. The crash remains under investigation.
There will be approximately 400,000 car accidents reported in Florida this year. Approximately 3,000 of these accidents will be fatal crashes, such as this one. In Florida, our wrongful death law provides a remedy for families whose loved ones have been taken from them due to an act of negligence. In a fatal crash, the accident scene must be closely examined in order to determine which driver was at fault. In cases where a negligent driver causes a death, a wrongful death claim may be brought by the deceased victim's next-of-kin.
