Hillsborough County, FL (August 5, 2019) - A moped driver received serious injuries in a crash with a vehicle that took place on Sunday, August 4th. The accident happened on Dale Mabry Highway.
According to authorities, 39-year-old Abimelec Rodriguez was riding his moped on Dale Mabry around 7:25 p.m., near the intersection with Waters Avenue. Rodriguez collided with a 2004 Infiniti G35 in the intersection. The Infiniti was making a left turn at the time of the crash. Rodriguez, who was not wearing a helmet, was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. The driver of the car was not injured.
An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending at this time.
