Hillsborough County, FL (December 26, 2018) - A 79-year-old pedestrian sustained critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Christmas Day. The incident took place on State Road 60 in the westbound lanes.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Nelson Morales was walking south, near a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound vehicle near Valrico Road. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 79-year-old Daniel Kesler. Morales sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. There is no further word on his condition at this time.
Police continue to investigate the incident. It remains unclear whether any charges will be filed. There is no additional information available.
