Hillsborough County, FL (July 18, 2018) – A Plant City man was seriously injured in a crash that took place on US 92. It took place yesterday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
53-year-old Raymond Shipley of Plant City was taken to the Lakeland Regional Health hospital with serious injuries. Shipley was cited after the incident for failing to drive within a single lane.
The other driver was identified as 64-year-old Wayne Newton, who was not injured in the crash.
Around 6:21 p.m. just east of Park Road, Shipley was driving a pickup truck when traffic ahead of him suddenly came to a halt. Shipley couldn’t stop in time and tried to take evasive action. The right side of the pickup struck the front of a semi-truck that Newton was driving.
Both vehicles came to a rest.
