Hillsborough County, FL (March 2, 2019) - A pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run crash early this morning. Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to Miller Road South, near Lithia Pinecrest Road, in reference to the incident around 3:00 a.m.
Officials report that the pedestrian was either riding or walking with a bicycle along the road when they were struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, died at the crash scene as a result of their injuries. They were wearing a reflective vest at the time of the collision. Police are looking for a white sedan that was seen traveling on Oaklane Road near the time of the incident.
Investigators remained on the scene for several hours, documenting and taking pictures before leaving around 7:00 a.m. No additional details were released.
