Interstate 75, FL (August 10, 2018) – You need an attorney to stand by your side if you were involved in a shooting when you should have been safe. Public areas are supposed to be safe when we use them for business purposes, but if they have not upheld this duty, a negligent security claim might result.
One person was injured in a rest area shooting that happened yesterday morning around mile marker 70. The accident occurred along the Alligator Alley stretch of Interstate 75.
The sheriff’s office responded to the initial call around 5:30 a.m. and found that the wounded person had been the victim of an attempted robbery. The victim was shot during the course of the robbery and was taken to the Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Their name has not yet been released.
As of yesterday afternoon, no arrests have been made. An investigation continues at this time and the rest area was closed yesterday.
