Jacksonville, FL (October 13, 2020) - A bicyclist was killed in a crash that took place in Jacksonville on Tuesday, October 13th. The collision occurred just after 12:00 p.m. on Chaffee Road near the intersection with Gurtler Road.
According to a report issued by the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan was traveling northbound on Chaffee when it collided with the bicycle which was traveling on the shoulder of the roadway. The cyclist, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver of the car, a 47-year-old woman, did not suffer any injuries as a result of the collision. There is no word at this time on whether the driver will face any charges in connection with the crash.
An investigation remains ongoing at this time. There is no further information available.
