Jacksonville, FL (September 10, 2019) - A 94-year-old Jacksonville died after suffering injuries in a pedestrian crash in a KFC parking lot. The crash initially occurred on Sunday, September 8th.
According to reports, Ruth Long had just left church and was in the parking lot of the KFC on Dunn Avenue when she was hit by the car. Long had exited her vehicle when another vehicle backed into her knocking her to the ground. Long appeared to be fine after the crash but complained about having pain in her shoulder. She went home but later began experiencing complications due to internal bleeding. Long eventually succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, who has not been identified at this time, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. There is no word on whether any charges are expected. No further details are available at this time.
