Jacksonville, FL (September 14, 2021) - Deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Saturday. The collision took place near Murray Hill and Edgewood Avenue.
According to officials, a man was driving a 2022 Hyundai Sonata when he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle at an intersection. The driver of the other vehicle died at the accident scene. The Sonata driver fled the area before police could arrive. The man was last seen entering a rideshare vehicle near Edgewood Avenue. The victim's identity has not been released.
Police continue to look for the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers. No further information is available.
