Jacksonville, FL (August 24, 2018) – A collision involving a car and a dump truck took place on I—10 Friday morning. The crash, which happened near Chaffee Road also resulted in fuel being spilled on the roadway.
The dump truck was traveling east when a Nissan Versa attempted to change lanes. While changing lanes, the Versa hit the dump truck. The Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash. The dump truck swerved to the right to avoid the crash, but ultimately rolled over onto its side. The Versa was located in the tree line off the shoulder of the roadway.
The dump truck driver suffered minor injuries while the Versa driver was unhurt.
A Hazmat team was called in to clean up the fuel spill.
Each year, more than 400,00 accidents happen on Florida roadways. Many accidents are unavoidable, such as this one. Certainly, it appears as though the Versa driver is responsible for causing this crash due to the sudden, unsafe movement that was made.
