Jacksonville, FL (January 1, 2019) - A three-car crash in Jacksonville left several people with serious injuries on Monday, December 31st. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to Normandy Boulevard at the intersection of Stratton Road in reference to the crash.
FHP Sgt. Dylan Bryan said that two adults and a child were traveling westbound on Normandy when their truck suddenly crossed over a median and struck a mailbox. The truck continued on and collided with a car traveling eastbound. The pickup truck driver, 27-year-old Damian Michael, and his passenger 26-year-old Jessica Knight were ejected from the truck. 1-year-old Linda Michael was also ejected. Both Damian Michael and Jessica Knight were in serious condition at the hospital. Linda Michael is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car, 59-year-old Leonard Welch is in serious condition as well. The driver of a third car that was struck by debris from the crash sustained minor injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash according to troopers. The cause remains under investigation at this time.
