Jacksonville, FL (March 19, 2021) - A teenager and an infant were injured in a Jacksonville car accident on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 8:55 a.m. on Interstate 95 near the entrance ramp from Airport Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to troopers, a 17-year-old was traveling northbound on I-95 when his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer in the right-hand lanes of the highway. The 17-year-old and his 1-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to UF Health Downtown for treatment. At this time, there is no word on their conditions. No one else was hurt in the accident.

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were about 400,000 reported car accidents in Florida in 2019. From this number, about 250,000 people were injured. While not all Florida car accidents result in injuries, many of them do.
