Jacksonville, FL (July 16, 2021) - A woman was killed in a crash that took place in the Woodstock area of Jacksonville on Friday, July 16th. The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Edgewood Avenue.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. According to deputies, two vehicles were involved in a street race when a Dodge Charger collided with a Nissan Sentra. A female passenger in the Sentra was ejected from the car and died at the crash scene. The Sentra driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Nissan was not involved in the race. The identities of the victims are not known at this time.
Police continue to investigate the accident. There is no word on what charges are expected to be filed.
