84-year-old Joanne Jones was pinned and killed after a horrendous T-bone accident that happened at the intersection of Utility Drive and Old Kings Road. Two others were injured – her husband and the driver of the other vehicle.
27-year-old Jessica Shank was driving her Equinox and attempted to make a left turn onto Old Kings Road. The front of the other driver’s Nissan collided with the front driver’s side of the white Equinox.
Joanna Jones did not die immediately. Shank was able to get out and walk around at the accident scene.
Jones was completely under the steering wheel. She was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. An emergency helicopter then landed and took her to the hospital, where she passed away due to her injuries. Her passenger, 84-year-old Louis Jones, was a trauma patient but is expected to recover from the accident. Louis Jones and his wife have been residents in the area for 18 years.
