Keystone Heights, FL (July 3, 2019) - A 71-year-old woman is dead and two others are critically injured following a serious crash between a pickup truck and a tractor in Keystone Heights. The crash took place on Tuesday, July 2nd, around 5:00 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene just after the collision. Investigators say that a 74-year-old man was driving a Ford F-150 pickup on County Road 214 when, for unknown reasons, his truck left the roadway and traveled onto a grassy shoulder. While on the shoulder, the truck collided with a tractor driven by a 68-year-old man. A passenger in the truck, 71-year-old Jeanette Hars, died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash. The driver of the Ford and the tractor driver were both hospitalized with serious, life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt in the crash.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
