Kissimmee, FL (December 3, 2019) - One person is dead following a crash between a Jeep and a dump truck in Kissimmee. The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. on Osceola Parkway near Storey Lake Boulevard.
According to reports, 22-year-old Hope Balser was driving a Jeep when she attempted to make a left turn onto Storey Lake. While turning, the Jeep collided with a dump truck. The dump truck overturned after the crash. 50-year-old Jose Rivera, the driver of the dump truck, was partially ejected after impact. Rivera died at the scene while Balser was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The crash caused Osceola Parkway to shut down for several hours while officials investigated at the scene. An investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
This year in Florida, there will be approximately 400,000 car accidents reported. Unfortunately, many of these accidents will cause death or serious injury to their victims. When a fatal crash takes place, police will look closely at the accident scene and determine the cause. In most cases of fatal accidents, the actions of a negligent driver are to blame.
