In 2015, over 800 bicyclists lost their lives in Florida bicycle accidents. The number has continued to rise every year, and Florida now ranks among the top of all states when it comes to injuries and deaths for bicyclists. More than half of bicycle accidents occur when someone fails to yield the right of way. Many bicycle accidents will also occur at night and along roadways with poor lighting, where it can be difficult to see a bicyclist.
