Lake County, FL (October 24, 2019) - A head-on crash in Lake County left one man dead and another seriously hurt on Thursday, October 24th. The crash was reported on State Road 40 near Gustafson Drive.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 49-year-old man from Ocala was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he traveled into the westbound lanes as he went around a curve. The Hyundai then veered into the path of a Honda Fit that was traveling westbound, causing a head-on crash between the two vehicles. The Santa Fe rolled over after the crash.
The driver of the Fit was pronounced dead at the scene while the Santa Fe driver was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Neither driver was identified. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
