Lake County, FL (December 19, 2020) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle crash in Lake County on Friday, December 18. The accident took place on U.S. Highway 27 around 9:45 a.m.
According to a report, at least one person was killed in the crash. There is no information on the cause of the accident at this time. Reportedly, two cars and a tow truck were involved in the crash. The deceased victim has not been identified and it is not clear whether anyone else was injured. The crash caused the roadway to be blocked until about 3:30 p.m. as FHP investigators worked at the scene.
No further information has been released at this time.
Deadly crashes in Florida occur about once every three hours and approximately eight times per day. Sadly, many fatal accidents result in the loss of life for innocent victims.
