Lakeland, FL (November 20, 2019) - Three children suffered injuries when an SUV crashed into a home in Lakeland on Tuesday, November 19th. The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. in the 1500 block of W. 7th Street.
The Lakeland Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to reports, a Dodge Durango was backing from a side yard when it came to a stop to avoid striking a bush. The Dodge then suddenly began moving forward and crashed into the home. The home was described as a licensed daycare facility. Three children inside a room in the house were hurt when the car came through a wall. The children were taken to Tampa General Hospital. One child was listed in critical condition while the others were listed in stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 79-year-old Mildred Green. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed and no further details are available.
Reportable accidents occur 92 seconds in Florida. Car accidents happen at all hours of the day and can take place anywhere.
