Lakeland, FL (August 15, 2019) - A two-car, head-on crash left two drivers dead in Lakeland. The crash was reported on Wednesday, August 14th.
Polk County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at East Main Street, near Reynolds Road, around 4:30 p.m. According to officers, 64-year-old Delbert Kendall was driving a blue Ford Focus eastbound on East Main when his vehicle crossed over the centerline and collided with a Subaru Forester traveling westbound. The Forester was being operated by 40-year-old Case Hurt. Both Hurst and Kendall were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved.
Officers have not determined what caused Kendall to cross the centerline. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.
