Land O'Lakes, FL (November 20, 2019) - A bicyclist was killed in a crash that took place in Land O'Lakes on Sunday, November 17th. The crash was reported around 11:58 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of State Road 54.
Police say that William Aaron Lyle of Land O'Lakes was riding his bicycle southbound while attempting to cross SR 54. As he was crossing, Lyle was struck by an eastbound Land Rover driven by 54-year-old Laura Ann Alliman. Rescue workers arrived and Lyle was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Alliman did not suffer any injuries. The crash caused traffic to back up near the scene and drivers were urged to find alternate routes.
There is no information on whether Alliman will face any charges. No additional details have been released at this time.
