Largo, FL (September 30, 2018) – Two people had to be taken to the hospital following a crash that involved three vehicles Saturday night, September 29, on U.S. 19. The crash that took place in the vicinity of Ulmerton Road was reported to have occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office who responded to the accident, one of the drivers attempted to flee the scene on foot after the crash. However, that individual was found close to the crash site and promptly transported to Bayfront Health Hospital with injuries that were considered minor.
One other person was immediately taken to the same hospital to be treated for serious injuries due to the crash. That victim was admitted to the hospital as a trauma alert. Both vehicles involved in the accident were flipped onto their sides from the impact of the collision. The cause of the crash is currently unclear as the incident remains under investigation at this time.
