Lee County, FL (January 28, 2019) - A head-on crash along State Road 82 left two people dead according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened near Daniels Parkway on Monday, January 28th.
27-year-old Yanelys Periera was driving westbound on SR 82 when she came to a curve. Periera failed to properly navigate the curve, crossed into the oncoming travel lane, and struck another vehicle head-on. Periera, along with the driver of the second car, were both killed in the crash. The second driver's name has not been released at this time pending family notification.
Neither of the drivers was wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred.
