Lehigh Acres, FL (August 13, 2019) - A school bus crash in Lehigh Acres sent a second-grade student to the hospital. The crash took place on Tuesday, August 13th, at the intersection of Grant and Eisenhower Boulevards.
According to reports, the school bus collided with a pickup truck around 7:30 a.m. The pickup truck sustained heavy front-end damage. The Lee County Sheriff's Office, along with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene to investigate. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. It is not clear at this time whether anyone else was hurt in the collision.
Police have not released any additional details.
Our thoughts go out to the family of the injured student. We are certainly glad to hear that the injuries suffered do not appear to be serious.
