Manatee County, FL (December 1, 2019) - One person was taken to the hospital following a hit-and-run crash in Manatee County on Saturday, November 30th. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of US 41 near 60th Avenue.
Police say that a northbound vehicle collided with the rear-end of a Honda Fit. The driver of the vehicle then fled the crash scene before police could arrive. The vehicle was later determined by investigators to be a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Fit, 76-year-old John Walo, was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800.
