Manatee, FL (December 29, 2018) - A motorcyclist is dead after being run over after falling off his bike in Manatee. The deadly incident took place on Friday, December 28th in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say that, around 6:30 am, a man was riding on a 2014 Victory Vegas motorcycle near mile marker 216 when he suddenly and abruptly applied his brakes. After applying the brakes, the man was thrown from the motorcycle and into the roadway. While he was lying in the road, he was run over by a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. He was then struck by three more vehicles before his body came to rest in the center lanes of the highway.
The man has not been identified at this time. Troopers are still investigating and it is not clear if any charges will be filed at this time.

Fatal accidents on our streets and highways take place approximately every three hours. In this case, it is too early to tell if the driver should be held responsible for the man's untimely death.
