Marion County, FL (April 17, 2021) - One man was killed and four others were hurt in a crash that took place in Marion County on Saturday, April 17th. The accident took place just after 10:00 a.m. on U.S. Highway 441 near County Road 42.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. Troopers say that a truck was traveling southbound on U.S. 441 when, for unknown reasons, the truck crossed the center median and entered the northbound lanes. While in the northbound lanes, the truck collided head-on with another vehicle before overturning and landing in a ditch. The truck driver died at the scene. The driver and three passengers of the other vehicle suffered undisclosed injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. There is no information on their conditions at this time.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
