Marion County, FL (July 11, 2018) – In Marion County, a truck-related accident took place involving a deputy. The Marion County deputy was in his patrol vehicle when he crashed into a truck trailer early this morning. The Florida Highway Patrol was called to investigate.
25-year-old Christian Guerra was in his marked 2018 Ford Explorer around 1:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 441 when he suddenly struck the left rear end of a truck trailer driven by 57-year-old Reynaldo Bello. The commercial vehicle was attempting to turn into a business driveway entrance.
Guerra did not receive injuries in the accident. However, Bello was transported to the Ocala Regional Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries, according to the police report. Both drivers had seatbelts on at the time and the crash was not determined to be alcohol-related.
At this time, the accident is still under investigation.
