Martin County, FL (August 17, 2021) - A 33-year-old woman from Miami was killed in a crash that took place on the Florida's Turnpike on Sunday morning. The accident occurred in the southbound lanes of the roadway near mile marker 137 and St. Lucie County.
Police report that the woman's vehicle had become disabled after being involved in an earlier crash on the Turnpike. She was inside her sedan that was parked in the left-hand lane when her vehicle was struck by two other vehicles. The first vehicle hit the car from behind and the second struck the driver's side door as it spun around following the first impact. The victim died at the scene. Her identity was not immediately available.
Police continue to investigate the accident. There is no word on any potential charges at this time and no further information is available.
There is nothing more devastating than the loss of a loved one in a Florida car accident. While the cause of each accident must be carefully investigated, many crashes are caused by the negligence of at least one driver. This can often result in catastrophic and fatal injuries for innocent victims.
Our condolences go out to the family affected by this fatal car accident in Martin County.
