Melrose, FL (December 4, 2019) - A woman from Palatka was killed and two others were hurt in a crash near Melrose on Wednesday, December 4th. The crash happened around 6:40 a.m. on State Road 100 near Belle Road.
According to reports, 27-year-old Kyle Hutson Bradley of Palatka was driving a 1999 Saturn S Series eastbound on SR 100. Suddenly, Bradley crossed the centerline and traveled into the westbound lanes. While in the westbound lane, he struck a 2015 Chevrolet pickup driven by 66-year-old Richard Parnell. A passenger in Bradley's car was killed as a result of the crash. Bradley was taken to UF Health Shands with critical injuries while Parnell was transported with minor injuries.
The identity of the female passenger has not been revealed at this time. Police are still investigating the crash and have not released any further information at this time.
We are saddened to hear of this tragic accident in Melrose. This year, more than 3,000 people will lose their lives as a result of fatal accidents in Florida. Many of the lives lost will be innocent victims who were affected by negligent or reckless driving. The family of a deceased victim may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim against the responsible driver.
