Miami-Dade, FL (May 14, 2021) - A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash while riding his bicycle in Southwest Miami-Dade on Friday morning. The crash occurred just before 2:00 a.m. along Sunset Drive.
The Miami-Dade Police Department responded to the scene. According to a report, a Mercedes-Bentz was traveling westbound on Sunset Drive when the driver struck a bicyclist. The driver fled the scene after the accident. The bicyclist, a male in his 30s, died at the crash scene. His identity has not been released at this time, however, it is believed that he was traveling home from work at the time of the collision.
Police are still searching for the Mercedes-Benz driver at this time. There is no additional information available.
Florida bicycle accidents can cause devastating impacts on victims. While these crashes do not occur as frequently as other types of collisions, they can be just as serious and deadly.
