When we think of injury crashes, we tend to think of cars and other more traditional passenger vehicles. Yet, each year in our state there are about 6,000 reported bicycle accidents. Bicycling is a popular activity in Florida, given the year-round temperate climate and many Floridians enjoy riding their bicycles for exercise. This is not without risk, however, as more than 90% of Florida bicycle accidents result in some type of injuries for the bicyclist, many of them serious injuries. Sadly, a large number of Florida bicyclists will be hurt in a crash that was not their fault.
We would like to offer our thoughts and most sincere well-wishes to the victim of this bicycle crash in Miami.
