Miami, FL (January 13, 2021) - Three cars and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash on Florida's Turnpike on Wednesday. The accident occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. near the intersection with Northwest 106th Street.
The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the crash scene. According to officials, the four vehicles collided with one another for unspecified reasons. As a result of the crash, the tractor-trailer veered off the roadway and traveled down an embankment. Rescue workers helped to extricate the tractor-trailer driver from his cab. He was later airlifted to a trauma center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The other victims involved also sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The southbound lanes of the roadway were closed while police investigated the crash. There is no further information available at this time.
